Nadhwa Mohamed

Gender and Good Governance

Nadhwa is a practicing lawyer from the Maldives, currently pursuing her Masters in  Human Rights Law at the University of Melbourne, where she has covered various topics in international human rights law and gender studies. She has over 6 years of experience in diverse work environments from the government and the private sector to non-governmental organizations.

She has contributed in human rights activism, gender and social issues reporting and data collection, and has further experience in good governance, anti-corruption awareness along with migrant worker rights from her time at Transparency International Maldives.

Apart from working on many public interest pro bono work and cases, Nadhwa has volunteered in various youth and social related causes including her term at JCI (Junior Chamber International) Maldives as the General Legal Counsel. She actively contributed in surveying, data collection and reporting on the Gender Equality Manifesto (GEM 2018) with Women in Democracy, a women empowerment organisation in Maldives.

Nadhwa currently heads The Eco Organization,  a climate change solutions-based NGO and is a partner and senior counsel at Atoll Chambers LLP.
